Overview:

Implementation of Web services requires multiple levels of security, including communications security, secure access to the Web service endpoint, and identity propagation between service consumer and implementation. In this paper, one focuses on user identity propagation. One also learns about the role of identity propagation in the overall Web services security implementation and identity propagation support in WebSphere Application Server (WAS) 6.1, both declarative and programmatic. And one discovers how the implementation presented supports security propagation between .NET and WebSphere environments.
