Overview:
The Batch Magic tool is used to size a customer's current workload and to determine the size of the TS7700 needed to handle that workload. The tool determines several aspects of the required TS7700 including the host throughput required, in 100 MB/sec increments, and the number of back-end physical drives needed to handle the activity such as pre-migration and recalls. It is important to have the correct number of back-end drives to handle the host throughput. This paper provides the Best Practices for TS7700 Virtualization Engine performance increments versus the number of backend drives.
