Overview:
This paper, the fifth in a six-part series about real-time Java, shows how to write and deploy real-time Java applications using the tools provided with IBM WebSphere Real Time. Using sample applications, the authors demonstrate the Metronome garbage collector for controlling garbage-collection pauses, the Ahead-of-time compiler for avoiding run-time compilation pauses, and NoHeapRealtimeThreads for meeting the most stringent timing requirements.
