Overview:

Finnish Government wanted to create a reliable, scalable, and consolidated Information Technology (IT) infrastructure following a merger of the IT units of the government, the Prime Minister's Office, and the Ministry of Finance in 2004 and provide a unified platform for the two separate process systems used by the government and all ministries. The challenge was to centralize IT systems management and minimize the need for updates and time-consuming maintenance activities and support decision-making and other processes related to affairs of State and to the management and distribution of EU documentation. Finnish Government worked with TietoEnator Corporation to implement Oracle Database and Oracle Application Server, establishing a single, centralized IT platform that ensures the security and availability of critical information while reducing IT maintenance.
