Overview:

ratiopharm is Germany's largest manufacturer of generic pharmaceutical products and has branch offices in 24 countries. The company wanted to enhance the security of its enterprise network by upgrading its server software to Windows Server 2008. ratiopharm became an early adopter of the operating system, turning to KUMAtronik Systemhaus, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, to assist in the server migration. The company employed the new Read-Only Domain Controller, the Server Core installation option, and Active Directory enhancements included in Windows Server 2008 to improve the infrastructure supporting its branch offices. The upgraded system gives the IT administrators at ratiopharm more control over password policies and makes the servers in the company's branch offices more secure and reliable.
