Overview:
The lack of mobility and inability to offer important LOB applications (such as Schwab PortfolioCenter) to remote users, not only limited staff productivity, but also limited flexibility in completing the business plan, thereby constricting growth. Barrington Capital Management (BCM) wanted to extend its network to offer greater mobility and to support additional users at remote locations. BCM decided to deploy Windows Server 2008 Standard on one server. The deployment would create a terminal server to provide remote access to a key Line-Of-Business (LOB) application for the existing three users, in addition to remote users that will be added over time - including business partners. The solution would provide a platform for the LOB application, for a Web service, and for a portal.
