Overview:

Based in Rome, Italy, Telecom Italia is the number one telecommunications service provider in the country. The company has 86,000 employees and manages a massive telephone and fiber optic network in Europe. An increasing number of Telecom Italia employees need remote access to a business-critical software application that manages telephone network maintenance and support. However, the organization needed an easier way to manage this application, which is on its own IT network. Telecom Italia also sought to improve access and security for remote users. In September 2007, the company deployed Windows Server 2008. As a result, administrators can centrally manage applications, and employees can more securely and easily access these applications. The solution also reduces operational costs and boosts productivity for Telecom Italia.
