Overview:
Business analysts are primarily responsible for writing and managing requirements specifications and communicating them with other stakeholders, but this role often falls under other job descriptions as well - including project leads, programmers, chief technical/information officers, IT management and architects. This is true in the enterprise as well as in small to medium companies. This breadth of activity means that very few respondents only fill the job role of business analyst. Most commonly, they are also called to overall project management and development, if not testing and serving as experts in specific domains. No wonder, then, that the majority of respondents feel that the role of business analyst could be better defined within their company.
