Overview:

Vattenfall AB wanted to improve performance and stability of business-critical Web-based electricity trade applications and streamline and improve risk management in the electricity trade and portfolio management. The challenge was to develop commercial applications and create new, modern Web services for larger customers and enhance the quality of support and reduce operation and maintenance expenses. Vattenfall AB worked with Oracle Consulting to implement Oracle Application Server to improve performance and eliminate unplanned operation shutdowns, as well as reduce the risks involved in electricity trading and portfolio management. It upgraded to the latest version of both Oracle Application Server and Oracle Database to create an entirely new Web site that has contributed to an increase in the number of electricity supply customers by at least 10%.
