Overview:

The IT team needed to provide delegates with both operating system and business productivity software that would be familiar and easy to use. However, ease of use was not the only concern. Highly sensitive economic data would be stored on servers and constantly moved through the network. The IT team needed to ensure that all of its systems were safe from software viruses and other threats. Microsoft had been a traditional sponsor of APEC in the past. So when it came time to select software for APEC Australia 2007, Microsoft products were the natural choice. Both the media and the delegates took advantage of Windows Vista and the 2007 Microsoft Office system.
