Overview:

The University of Iowa includes 11 colleges and dozens of academic departments, each with its own technology needs. Many have elected to upgrade their desktop and portable computers to the Windows Vista operating system, to take advantage of the more advanced media capabilities and the Windows Aero user experience. Teachers and students are enjoying a richer learning environment for media-dependent teaching and increased efficiency in daily tasks. University IT personnel like the faster deployment of Windows Vista, especially to Tablet PCs and portable computers. They expect to save 30 minutes of setup time for every portable computer deployed through the use of Windows Vista imaging and configuration enhancements. Extensive application compatibility testing has resulted in more stable desktops.
