Overview:
Azimut was founded in 1969 by Paolo Vitelli, current CEO and president, as a sailing boat charter business. The company wanted to create innovative solutions for the nautical market to conceive, design and build boats in a range of sizes and with varying degrees of customization and leverage synergy points among different boat designs. The company adopted modeling boats in 3D with a high degree of detail and precision with re-using CAD data in manufacturing, analysis and to communicate with suppliers.
