Overview:

Manufacturers such as Koenig & Bauer AG (KBA) use many purchased standard parts in the designs of their machines. They also redesign a certain number of components that already exist or are very similar to existing parts. The company's challenge was to accelerate design time and to reduce stock and money tied up in capital to increase innovation. The company deployed UGS NX software for printing press design with UGS Teamcenter software product data and process management and Teamcenter-based part classification and re-use solution.
