Overview:

The customer was looking to develop an HLR, based on commodity Unix servers, that would be a fraction of the footprint of a traditional HLR and could scale from 10,000 to over 10 million subscribers, thereby putting networks on a new price/performance curve. For the HLR, Apertio chose to use Adax's HDC-PCI Combo card. The high link density and performance of the Adax card doubled the initial performance requirements of Apertio. This resulted in a solution that could not only cope with extremely high traffic rates, quickly and efficiently, but could also scale cost-effectively with the needs of the network to accommodate unprecedented numbers of subscribers.
