Overview:

The Finance Department of the State of Mato Grosso (Sefaz-MT) is responsible for tax collection, inspection, and resource management at the state level. The department wanted to migrate the existing client-server environment to a Java-based internet system. The challenge was to provide tax payers with real-time information tools and improve customer care services provided by public officials. The department implemented Oracle Database 10g and Oracle Application Sever to accelerate data processing for better constituent Services. It also improved access to Web services on the organization's internet site, increasing constituent visits from 3.2 million to 9 million a month.
