Overview:

Service Provider Managed Solutions facilitate application-oriented and/or multi-protocol transport over the MAN or WAN utilizing an optical service which is monitored and maintained by a network operator. Originally used for service provider voice networks, optical networking technology is rapidly expanding to business end users. Enterprises now consider these services the transport medium of choice for their mission-critical networks, including those used for storage, data center connectivity, campus and metro-area networking; especially for applications that require low latency and high bandwidth, such as videoconferencing and synchronous storage replication.
