Overview:

Enterasys Networks, a provider of communications infrastructure solutions to enterprise-class customers, moved from multiple Windows-based client platforms to Microsoft Windows XP Professional to gain a consistent, more supportable infrastructure. At the same time, it moved to Microsoft Office XP Professional to take advantage of improved document sharing, collaboration, and security features as well as synergies with the new operating system. The company was able to deploy Windows XP Professional and Office XP globally to more than 2,000 users in four and a half weeks. This deployment helped empower users with easier remote access and real-time communications. It also helped reduce help-desk calls by 50 percent and increase problem resolution on the first call by 25 percent.
