Overview:
With increasing hard disk drive sizes, the available array and volume capacity of a system has grown considerably. This paper discusses in detail the 2 terabytes limit under some operating systems and suggests workarounds currently available to achieve volume sizes greater than 2 terabytes. This paper has been written for system integrators and systems administrators who are attempting to create and use arrays and volume sizes over 2 terabytes under Linux and Windows. The solutions for Linux and for Windows are different.
