Overview:
Statoil has thousands of customers, partners, and suppliers who demand exceptional levels of service. They generate, on average, 150,000 documents a month. This makes internal collaboration critical for the success of the business. In early 2006, Microsoft invited Statoil to take part in its Rapid Deployment Programme (RDP) for the 2007 Microsoft Office system. Following discussions with Microsoft Services, Statoil decided to install the 2007 release in a test environment where the company could assess new functionality and how it might benefit the business and its employees. Statoil led the project, designing several server architectures that were then built in conjunction with Microsoft Services.
