Overview:

The Forestry Commission delivers practical programs to make sure that communities and individuals can get the most from Britain's forests and woodlands. The challenge was to streamline management of forestry grants and licenses; make the process of applying for grant-aid or felling licenses straightforward and transparent for the applicant; and migrate to J2EE in accordance with Forestry Commission IT policy. The Forestry Commission utilized Oracle technology and tools to create a new system called GLADE (Grants and Licenses Administration Delivered Electronically) that makes approvals transparent to applicants, consulters and the public alike. The company worked with Oracle Consulting Services to deliver the Forestry Commission's first project based on J2EE, successfully and on time.
