Overview:

Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) is a type of bacteria that is resistant to most antibiotics. These antibiotics include methicillin and other more common antibiotics such as Septra, Cipro, Penicillin and Amoxicillin. MRSA occurs most frequently among persons in hospitals and healthcare facilities (such as nursing homes and dialysis centers) who have weakened immune systems. It is the purpose of the study discussed in this paper to survey physicians and to develop a decision model concerning the actual treatment of osteomyelitis (bone infection) with MRSA and to compare it to evidence from clinical studies.
