Overview:

The Civil Defense National Institute is the central management agency of Peru's National Civil Defense System. INDECI is a public organization with headquarters in Lima and 25 regional offices in Peru. The organization wanted to increase the number of emergency reports. The challenge was to provide a powerful and robust information system so that INDECI can perform activities regarding the disaster prevention and recovery and provide spatial data in fast, flexible way to achieve an effective and efficient disaster prevention and recovery management. The organization implemented Oracle Database Enterprise Edition 10g, enabling the agency to improve accuracy and sophistication of its reporting on any emerging emergencies or threats to the state.
