Overview:

In the past decade, European GSM wireless service providers have experienced dramatic growth in their customer base. Nowadays, large wireless operators extensively use various Business Intelligence (BI) tools to extract essential information from data warehouses that store millions of personal and corporate customer records. An average customer database includes millions of records. A must-have feature of the prototype system was that queries had to return results fast. Therefore, system architecture and database structure had to be optimized for speed. To develop an efficient multiplatform database application supporting customizable search algorithms and optimized for fast queries Artezio utilized the C++ programming language, the CORBA technology (the omniORB CORBA broker), Oracle stored procedures and Oracle OCI.
