Overview:

United Farmers of Alberta (UFA), a farm-supply and petroleum marketing co-operative, was tracking and analyzing mission-critical information using paper-based reports generated by an existing legacy system. This method was inhibiting the decision-making process, so UFA selected Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition as its Business Intelligence (BI) environment to improve query performance, help cut down IT administration, and enhance business decision making. UFA took advantage of the SQL Server Accelerator for Business Intelligence to easily customize the solution based on its operation data. Since then, UFA has been better able to manage and measure its sales and marketing operations through greater access to information.
