Overview:
This paper describes the HP software update catalog for Microsoft System Management Server (SMS) 2003 Release 2 (R2). It also provides an overview of the SMS custom update process, explains the benefits of using the HP Client Catalog for SMS, and gives some insight into how the catalog leverages Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) and the HP Client Management Interface (HP CMI). Finally, this paper describes the steps that should be followed to import the catalog into SMS and deploy HP software updates to HP client systems.
