Overview:
Based in San Diego, California, Cymer, Inc. is one of the world's leading suppliers of Deep UltraViolet (DUV) illumination sources, the essential light source used in DUV photolithography systems in the semiconductor manufacturing process. Cymer needed a new infrastructure for its mission-critical applications. After considering a range of alternative platforms, the company decided on an architecture using Linux and Intel processor-based servers. This solution offered the cost-effectiveness and scalability that Cymer required to maintain growth while controlling costs.
