Overview:
HTML markup can be used to indicate both the semantics of a documents and its presentation. However, it's best to use markup predominantly for indicating the semantics of documents and to use a separate mechanism to determine exactly how information contained in the document should be presented. Style sheets provide such a mechanism. In this sample chapter from Web Technologies: A Computer Science Perspective, master the basics of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), a style sheet technology designed to work with HTML and XML documents.
