Overview:

The New Zealand National Poisons Centre provides life-saving information about poisons and their treatment through a telephone call centre and Internet database. Open around the clock, the centre receives inquiries from health professionals, the general public, and poison centres in other countries. Lately, the database hosting provider did not provide reliable Web site access, and Web updates were published only once a week. In addition, the centre wanted to more efficiently manage its database, which includes information relating to 88,000 substances. With help from Kognition Consulting, the centre has deployed a Microsoft .NET-connected solution that provides higher uptime and real-time Web publishing. It also streamlines the process of updating and reviewing database information.
