Overview:

The new generation of the Intel Itanium 2 processor, code named Montecito, incorporates several advanced features and improvements, including multiple cores per processor and multiple hardware threads per core. This paper describes the key enhancements to the HP-UX 11i v3 operating system to support the new multiple hardware thread feature called the Hyper-Threading (HT) Technology.
