Overview:

Deutsche Bahn AG provides urban, regional and long-distance transportation to approximately 1.7 billion passengers annually via 35,000 trains that travel throughout Germany and many neighboring countries. Additionally, the railway company's freight transport division moves 280 million tons of cargo per year. An IT infrastructure the size of the one required to support Europe's largest railway company must be managed efficiently and effectively around-the-clock. Degraded or failed infrastructure performance can have rippling effects through many points of service, from ticket transactions, to arrival and departure schedules, to back-end office operations. DB Systems therefore selected CA's SPECTRUM software to ensure the availability, speed and reliability of its expansive IT infrastructure.
