Betfair, an online betting exchange based in the United Kingdom (U.K.) recognises this. The organisation, which launched more than six years ago, has developed a business that caters for the needs of individuals. To maximise convenience, Betfair wanted to develop a system that alerted users of bets or betting markets in which they were particularly interested. The vision was to offer a desktop gadget that allows users to quickly view their bets on the Betfair system. With the launch of Windows Vista, the company saw the opportunity to develop a desktop solution that really connected with customers.
