Overview:
Declining disk costs have sparked the development of a variety of Disk-to-Disk (D2D) systems. Not all of these products are alike; in fact, in some respects they are very different. Let's look at the different options. Similarly, the new breed of virtual tape products on the market use disk as tape devices - that is, data is backed up to a disk device, which appears as a tape drive or library to the host and backup application. Data is written in tape, not disk, image format.
