Established in 1995, Sonic Biochem Extractions Ltd specializes in the manufacture of soya products and exports to more than 32 countries. Sonic Biochem wanted to rewrite and port all applications from COBOL in Unix to .NET in a Red Hat Linux environment optimized by latest-generation database software. The company wanted to consolidate three databases into one and enhance database management with remote access. The company migrated to Oracle Database 10g Standard Edition to optimize delivery of rewritten and new applications and employed Oracle Enterprise Manager to undertake remote management of the new database aided by automatic management capabilities of Oracle Database 10g.
