Overview:
The Microsoft Human Resources Information Technology team (HRIT) needed to find a better way to uniformly collect, store, and work with performance review information. This meant finding a way to take data entered in an offline form and store it in a structured manner so that it could be tied to other performance management tools in the future. Building on the power of the 2007 Microsoft Office system, the HRIT team created a solution called the Performance@Microsoft tool to support employees worldwide. Launched on June 1, 2006, the tool uses Microsoft Office InfoPath for workflow management, with employees and managers establishing individual and team commitments and the criteria for measuring progress toward them.
