Overview:

To collect and report the costs and success of their procedures, the client turned to UNICOM to develop a sophisticated patient and inventory tracking database that would allow the organization's members to assess the success rates and the outcomes of their procedures. To achieve the desired results, the client needed to track two sets of data: Data associated with their surgical procedures, including encounter, outcome and complication results; and data related to the use of inventory, including medical supplies used, their cost and intangibles such as room time and contrast dosages. To manage the data, UNICOM developed an application named Health Information and Inventory for Quality, or HI-IQ. HI-IQ manages patient demographics, patient histories, procedural and physician data and inventory levels and costs.
