Overview:

Microsoft SharePoint Products and Technologies facilitate collaboration within an organization and with partners and customers. Using the combined collaboration features of Windows SharePoint Services and SharePoint Portal Server 2003, users in the organization can easily create, manage, and build their own collaborative Web sites and make them available throughout the organization. This paper describes the relationship and the differences between Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services and Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003. One can use this information to decide if his or her organization should deploy Windows SharePoint Services alone or with SharePoint Portal Server 2003.
