Overview:

At the U.S. Army Defense Ammunition Center (DAC) in McAlester, Okla., Web-based training is helping instructors teach safe handling of ammunition, at much reduced risk and cost. In other words, fewer bangs for less bucks. The DAC is responsible for establishing, maintaining and teaching care standards for storage, transportation, handling, maintenance, firing and disposal of ammunition, ranging from 5.56mm small-arms ammunition to 16-inch battleship ammunition. Until recently, the DAC Training Directorate managed the process of teaching safety and handling issues through a blend of learning techniques.
