Overview:

The United States Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) is facing a challenge that all federal government and DoD agencies either are, or soon will be, facing - how to demonstrate and prove that their personnel are IT security competent and meet the compliance requirements of Directive 8570. When looking for a training provider that could meet all of his criteria, the coordinator of Information Assurance Training and Awareness for US SOUTHCOM/J622 went to New Horizons first due to their long-term partnership based upon quality and collaboration. He presented his needs and communicated the goals of the program to New Horizons and after evaluating the options it became apparent that a custom solution would need to be created for SOUTHCOM.
