Overview:

Nielsen Media Research, the famous TV ratings company, is the leading provider of television information services in the U.S. and Canada. The company has selected Sybase Adaptive Server IQ Multiplex (Sybase IQ) running on Sun Fire servers and StorEdge storage as the basis for its next-generation data warehouses. The performance and storage economy innovations introduced by Sybase IQ on Sun hardware will enable Nielsen to increase by an order of magnitude the amount of data analyzed in developing media market intelligence. To verify and prove that Sybase IQ on Sun hardware has the scalability and functionality necessary to meet Nielsen's goals, and to help Nielsen make critical configuration decisions, Sun and Sybase performed a proof-of-concept demonstration at a Sun iForce Solutions Center.
