Microsoft Project many be the benchmark in project management software, but you can find effective open source and shareware alternatives. This Business Tech Review profiles the GanttPV open source project management application. This open source application has yet to reach its 1.0 release. As the review points out, GanttPV holds great promise for the future but there are several caveats you should know before using the current version.
