Overview:

FaceTime Security Labs, the threat research arm of FaceTime Communications, reported that threats spread via Instant Messaging (IM) and P2P were up more than 2000% in 2005. According to Osterman Research, 90 percent of enterprises now use IM, and while the benefits to collaboration and efficiency are numerous, the challenges it introduces are real - viruses, worms, managing uncontrolled use and meeting compliance standards. Consider that IM and P2P are also primary channels for spyware distribution and IT organizations have their hands full. This webcast discusses the current threats being propagated over IM, why these threats spread more quickly than traditional threats and best practices for managing and securing IM to embrace increased business productivity and protect the enterprise.
