Overview:

The obvious productivity benefits of workplace IM and the lure of free video and music downloads have dramatically expanded IM and P2P use in the enterprise. These greynet applications are often deployed by the end user without IT permission, and are elusive at the network level. Their widespread use has increased the exposure of viruses, worms and other security threats to the network. They also create business risk such as disclosure of intellectual property, loss of customer data, competitive leaks and spyware infections. This webcast explains how IM and P2P applications are specifically built to circumvent traditional security solutions, different ways they introduce risk, and best practices for how enterprises can protect themselves.
