Alcan Aluminium Valais faced ever-increasing customer expectations and demands. To meet this new challenge, the company initiated a project to review all existing supply chain processes and identify the opportunities for improvement. Reengineering, manufacturing, and logistics processes proved to have the highest impact on customer service level and operational efficiency. Alcan Aluminium selected SAP Advanced Planning & Optimization (SAP APO), a component of mySAP Supply Chain Management (mySAP SCM), to support its new centralized production planning and scheduling with finite capacity and link its manufacturing processes across various production sites.
