Overview:

This paper examines the information integration features of Oracle Database 10g, and compares them with the features of SQL Server 2005. It specifically looks at replication and message queuing. SQL Server 2005 provides incremental improvements to their replication, distributed operations, and heterogeneous access. It also introduces an entirely new message queuing feature integrated into the database called Service Broker. The mid-tier message queuing solution provided by MSMQ continues as a feature external to SQL Server.
