Overview:

Compaq's original business case for the Primavera implementation of Primavera software anticipated far-reaching effects throughout the enterprise1. However, external events, such as Compaq's merger with HP, moved so quickly that Compaq's PMO was thrust into the limelight, reconstituted as the organization's PMO, and given multiple new responsibilities. The merger demanded a new PMO that could take on project management reorganization of unprecedented scale, speed, scope, and impact. Primavera enabled HP to standardize on a single methodology for reporting on, monitoring, and assessing projects.
