Overview:
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 is the evolutionary upgrade from Windows 2000 Server. Microsoft has made significant performance improvements to Windows Server 2003 in both the system kernel and many subsystems, and in almost every implementation it will outperform Windows 2000, often considerably. This IBM paper describes several of the practical steps that can be employed to see Windows perform optimally for a given server implementation. Each of these techniques is another potential weapon in your arsenal of methods to extract the best performance possible from your Windows server.
