Overview:

The telecommunications industry is rapidly re-inventing itself to meet its changing and expanding role in the business world. With the advent of cellular, WiFi, WiMax and increasingly powerful and portable devices, the demand for unique services to fit a customer's business model is growing each day. This paper discusses the telecommunications industry's move towards a standard architecture known as the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), the benefits of an IMS infrastructure to service providers and their customers, the complexity of delivering a silo-less service architecture, and an approach to simplifying the delivery.
