Overview:

The United States Environment Protection Agency (EPA) was formed in 1970 to protect human health and the environment. The EPA's primary goal was to provide an automated system that would not require manual data entry and to support all CDX users no matter what their IT infrastructure. The EPA also wanted to make it easier for developers to discover and invoke services supported by CDX. The solution used was Systinet Registry, a complete, standards-based solution for discovering, publishing, and reusing Web services and an essential element of an enterprise SOA. The Systinet Registry enables CDX to conduct machine-to-machine data exchange.
