The Oracle Backup tape management system has been introduced to lower software cost and complexity while seamlessly integrating backup and recovery operations to simplify and automate the protection of a user's whole Oracle environment. Oracle Backup delivers reliable database and file system backup to tape, with support for the major tape drives and libraries in SAN, Gigabit Ethernet, and SCSI environments using standard tape formats. Fully integrated with Recovery Manager (RMAN), Oracle Backup offers an intuitive browser interface, uniform command line interface, and integration with Oracle Enterprise Manager for maximum flexibility and ease of use for scheduling, media management, dynamic device sharing, and more.
