Overview:
Recognizing the importance of securing federal systems and data, Congress passed the Federal Information Security Management Act (FIMSA) in 2002. The act requires federal agencies develop, document and implement agency-wide information security programs to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the data and systems that support government operations and assets.
